This policy explains what information realestate.nwaezedavid.com (the “site”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The site is run by Nwaeze David (“I”, “me”, “we”). If you have a question about this policy, email info@nwaezedavid.com.

1. Information you give us

• Starter Pack and community waitlist forms: your first name, email address, which description fits you best (investor, realtor or diaspora), and the page you signed up from.
• Contact form: your name, email address, the topic and your message.
• Book purchases: your name, email address, the book you bought and the order details. Card and bank payments are handled by our payment providers (Stripe, Paystack and Flutterwave). We never see or store your full card number.
• Comments or replies to our emails: whatever you choose to include.

2. Information collected automatically

• Server logs: like most websites, our host records IP addresses, browser type, pages requested and timestamps to keep the site secure and working.
• Analytics: we use Google Analytics (through Google Site Kit) to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. It uses cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location.
• Affiliate link clicks: links that begin with /go/ are tracked by the ThirstyAffiliates plugin, which records the click, the time and the IP address so we can see which recommendations are useful.
• Email activity: our emails may record whether a message was opened and which links were clicked, so we can send fewer, more useful emails.

3. How we use your information

• To deliver what you asked for: the Starter Pack, your books and download links, and replies to your messages.
• To send the emails you signed up for, such as follow-up lessons and occasional offers for our books. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To process orders and prevent fraud.
• To keep the site secure and filter spam (we use Akismet for this).
• To understand what readers find useful and improve the guides.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. This site uses:

• Essential cookies that make the cart, checkout and account pages work.
• Analytics cookies from Google Analytics.
• Advertising cookies from Google and its partners, described in the next section.
• Preference cookies, for example the language you choose in our translation menu.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, such as checkout, may not work without them.

5. Advertising

This site uses, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

These providers process data on our behalf, each under its own privacy policy:

• Hostinger: website hosting and email delivery
• Google: Analytics, Site Kit and AdSense
• Stripe, Paystack and Flutterwave: payment processing
• Linguise: page translation
• Akismet and Jetpack (Automattic): spam filtering, security and site statistics
• Webpushr: browser notifications, only if you choose to allow them
• YouTube: videos embedded in some guides, which may set their own cookies when played

Our share buttons are plain links. No data is sent to WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn or Facebook unless you click one.

7. How long we keep information

We keep email subscribers’ details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Analytics data is kept according to Google Analytics’ retention settings.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Nigeria’s Data Protection Act 2023, the EU and UK GDPR and similar laws, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how it is used. You can withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time with the unsubscribe link. To make a request, email info@nwaezedavid.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

The site uses HTTPS encryption, and access to personal data is limited to what is needed to run the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

10. Children

This site is written for adults. It is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

Our service providers may store or process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, they use recognized safeguards for these transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or by email.
